This is one of those nights where I hope 1.) I can stay awake to finish the post 2.) I can get my thoughts to make sense! The past week has been quite a whirlwind. As I reflect a moment a week ago tonight I went to bed and all was normal. And woke up to Kayleigh being so sick. I must say, I am so thankful the ship doctor did not let us continue the cruise!

Tonight I just want to say thank you. Kayleigh is resting well. She is much better! Thank you so much for praying us through this storm.

Love,

12:40 – We are still waiting to see Kayleigh. The doctor came out to talk with us at 11:40 and let use know that things went well and that they checked multiple ways to make sure the catheter was placed properly. The nurse practitioner just came out now to let us know Kayleigh is in recovery and starting to wake up. They are going to do a few more X-rays to make sure everything is in place before they let us in to see her.

Please keep praying that this surgery is what was needed and that she will rebound quickly. Pray for rest and peace for everyone. And please stop for a moment and tell the Lord “thank you” for all that He has done and all the ways he has answered our prayers. We are tired but not burdened. We know God is carrying this load for us and that makes all the difference.

Thank you for standing with us. We have needed you all greatly this past week and you never disappoint.

July 19, 2016 – 9:45 am

9:45 – Kayleigh has gone back for surgery to revise the VP shunt. She is always such a trooper but this morning, for the first time, she is in tears. And so am I. Please pray for peace for all. We know God is watching over our baby, it just hurts my heart to see her upset and not be able to fix it.

July 19, 2016 – 7:33 am

7:33 am – While preliminary results showed everything was working, after talking to Kayleigh’s neurosurgeon, he feels that the shunt is not positioned correctly and needs to be adjusted. That means surgery again. Thankfully, they will
Just open the same incision as before on her head and make the adjustment.

Please pray for sure hands and perfect placement of the shunt.
Pray for no complications and that Kayleigh will heal quickly – she was really counting on coming home on Wednesday. I don’t know if f that is possible now.
Pray they will be able to get Kayleigh on the schedule today quickly so she doesn’t have to go without food and water for an extended period of time.

I will post again when I find out what time surgery will be.

Thank you all,
‘Carrow💜
