As I write tonight Kayleigh is still with us. She has slipped peacefully into a coma. All of her vital signs, while deteriorating, still point to her being comfortable. We are so thankful for the continued prayers for peace. Our nurses are amazed at just how peaceful she is. This process could be terrible but instead it is a time for snuggles, kisses, and reminding our girl just how much we love her.

God continues to be our hope and sustainer. Even in our grief we still have His peace. Our home is filled with family, praise music, and so much love. Yes, we are so terribly sad, but knowing that our time apart from Kayleigh on earth is only a blink in eternity brings us joy.

As I hold her I keep telling her about the impact she has had on people near and far. This precious girl has made the kind of difference that will last a lifetime. Her story has changed hearts and the ripple effect of that will continue until Christ returns. Oh how humbled I am that God would allow me to me her mother and walk this path with her.

So tonight, please continue to pray for peace. For Kayleigh to be comfortable and in no distress. Pray for her to feel safe passing from our arms to the arms of Jesus. For Tim, Grace, Cole & I as we deal with grief and hold on to joy.

It seems like a good night to remember our verses for Kayleigh.

Jeremiah 29:11-13
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.

Until tomorrow,
