Happy Birthday, Cole!!!!

On the heels of a really terrible day, today has been better. We still have many concerns, but the excruciating headaches did not make an appearance today and that is a huge blessing. Unfortunately, we had to increase the steroids to help with the inter cranial swelling. While it helped the headache it hurt the stomach. So, yesterday she cried mostly from the headache, today she cried because of the tummy. It’s a constant struggle. One I pray we will begin to figure out and work around soon.

She is still struggling greatly with mobility. Her right arm and hand are about 20% useful. She can move them but she has zero fine motor skills. She can no longer write, use a fork, or anything else with her right hand. Really, even gross motor skills are difficult. Walking is also greatly effected. She has almost no balance and her right leg is about as useful as her right arm. Tomorrow we will go pick up her leg brace for the right leg in hopes that it will help stabilize her.

Yet even with all of that today I had more time with my bright, bubbly girl. Moments of laughter and silliness, it was wonderful. Kayleigh helped wrap Cole’s birthday gifts and was so excited to get up this morning and watch him unwrap them. She even let me leave her at home with Grandaddy for a little bit during lunch – with no fuss – so I could take cookies to Cole’s class. That was actually a pretty big deal, she usually doesn’t want me to get out of her sight.

I know our better day today is directly related to the thousands of you that have been praying for us today. We desperately needed you and you showed up in amazing force. Kayleigh still has a long way to go but today is a victory – stomach ache, weakness and all. Please don’t stop praying. We need each and every one of you to keep knocking on heaven’s door, raising the roof, and being the squeaky wheel – all begging God for Kayleigh’s healing.

Prayers for today:
Complete healing this side of heaven
No headaches!
Diet changes to help
Stomach pain to lessen
Right side mobility to return
Balance to return

As you can see the list is still long, but we know our God is good and more than able to answer each request.

Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 4:15-17
15 All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory. 16 That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. 17 For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!

Thank you Jesus for another day. Please dear Lord, grant us many, many more!

Until tomorrow,
‘Carrow💜
